What’s New in Yaletown

What’s New in Yaletown You Ask?

Despite the whispers of “Gastown is the new Yaletown”, it’s interesting to see how much has been happening in Yaletown in the past few months. Small Victory, a boutique breakfast and lunch spot serving simple delights such as Scones & Clotted Cream or Cookies and Milk, is now a go-to destination and offers a slick stylish decor. Located on Homer Street near Moule.

Another new bakery is Sweet Bake Shop, a new store that started as a home-based business in 2010 and now features wedding cakes, cupcakes and cookies. And even Cafe Medina is getting in on the action, moving from Crosstown into the edges of Yaletown. Another bar that has been making a big name for itself is the Opus Bar…serving coffees and baked goods by day, but sinfully tasty cocktails at night, this is definitely the place to be!

Pampering for men, as well as women!

As you all know, there are lots of places for pampering women in Yaletown, and now there is something for men! The Man Cave BarberShop features hot shaves, barber cuts as well as beard trims. Hipsters Rejoice!

First opened in Gastown and North Vancouver, Float Yaletown brings a bit of bliss to the hustle of downtown life. Lie down, relax and let your thoughts take you to a whole new level of relaxation.

Moving into the Area? Lots of furniture shops to make your new place feel like a home!

Many home furnishing stores have been staples in the area, most notably along Homer Street. Cross Decor and Design, after being in the neighbourhood for 11 years, recently expanded from 3,000SF to 5,000SF within the last 18 months. If you are looking for decadent and luxurious linens, look no further than Pisolino. In the area for 4 years, the store is known for its bedding first and foremost, but their bath and home decor accessories are elegant and refined, and well worth a look. Chintz and Company has been a staple in Yaletown, spanning two floors with well-known name brands as well as one of a kind finds.

For additional inspiration, check out Kostuik Gallery, which has been in Yaletown since 1997. Featuring artists from Canada, US, Asia, as well as Mexico, Australia and the Netherlands, these visual art pieces are stunning. Also pay a visit to Harrison Galleries, operating in Vancouver since 1958. In addition to featuring local artists, they also offer services such as framing, international shipping and art evaluations.

Residents of Yaletown know all too well that space can be tight, but with Instant Bedrooms, you will find Upright Wallbeds as well as other space saving furnishings. You will be pleasantly surprised by how they can make a small space feel expansive and homey.
