Gastown

Gastown is one of Vancouver’s oldest neighbourhoods, established in 1867. Its historical architecture, cobblestone streets, excellent shopping and famous steam clock draw thousands of tourists and residents daily. Annual events like the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival and the recently reintroduced Gastown Grand Prix bike race bring variety and energy to the area. Gastown’s residential population grows every year as developers refurbish older buildings, creating the popular Gastown lofts. With their urban sophistication and historical character, Gastown loft conversions are quickly becoming desirable options for first-time home buyers and downsizers alike, who want downtown convenience with an eclectic selection of shops and restaurants to enjoy nearby.
